College Tools and Tips Conference
Are you interested in learning some tools and tips for preparing for college? It's MI Life is sponsoring a free conference June 29 at the University of Michigan Dearborn campus, and we'd love for you to join us for a day of workshops and fun, designed to help you plan for college and your future.
Here's what's on the agenda:
- A raffle, where we'll give away a lot of prizes -- including a new iPad, iTouch, digital cameras, video camera, earphones and iTunes and Napster gift cards.
- A workshop on how to write college admission essays
- A panel of college students who'll tell you about their own experiences and choices
- A workshop on blogging, linking, photo galleries and other content for the Web
- Group brainstorming sessions on how you can use what you've learned to share ideas and start conversations with others like you at ItsMILife.com.
There is a catch. There's always a catch! But it's not a big one. We want the students who attend the conference to become It's MI Life Ambassadors, who sign an agreement upon graduation from the It's MI Life Conference to go back and share with other students what you have learned. We will teach you tips for blogging, creating groups on the site, linking to other content -- and we'd like for you to use what we teach to help build the It's MI Life network. The more students we have here, the better the information will be to help all Michigan teens make choices about college. If you fulfill your end of the contract, there will be the opportunity to win more prizes in the next several months as well.
